Merry Christmas!

Thank you to the parents who helped with the Christmas party and to everyone who donated supplies. Everyone had a great time, and the students created some amazing crafts out of recycled materials. Merry Christmas to all, and see you next year!

Christmas Party

Our class party will be at 12:05 on Wednesday, December 21, right after lunch recess. Parents who plan on attending, please send Miss Frank a note so we know how many helpers we have. If you have a glue gun, please bring it! We will be creating crafts from recycled materials. Please keep the items coming in: jars, fabric, ribbons, lids, yarn, buttons, garland, and anything else you think may work!

We have a good start on supplies, but need more! Thank you to all, especially the moms planning the event!

Christmas Motions

This week in math we talked about congruent objects and how to tell if one of the objects was slid, turned, or flipped. To finish the lesson, we found holiday clip art in Microsoft Word. Students copied and pasted each clip, and used the drawing tools to slide, turn, or flip the copy. The class then used the text box tool to label each motion.

Perimeter and Area

This week in math we learned about finding the perimeter and area of objects. We used toothpicks to create polygons and then we would count to find the perimeter. We also made rectangles and would calculate the area in square units.

Conferences and Crafts

Parent-Teacher conferences are this week! If you need to know your child's conference date and time, Mrs. Towsley has a copy of the schedule in the office. Let Miss Frank know if you need to change.

Thank you to the moms who are going to organize our Christmas Party on December 21, at 12:05. Students are going to make Christmas crafts out of recycled materials. We are asking to please send in what you can: jars, lids, ribbons, buttons, fabric scraps, wrapping paper, or anything else. Thank you!

Games and Gregor!

We had a great morning! Gregor came to visit, and after special and some math, we had our ABC Game Day. Thank you to all the students who brought games in, and to all the kids for being such good sports! You can see more pictures on Facebook and our classroom Picasa album.
